Right now, in the Novasom Industries laboratory, we’re carrying out a for one of our customers.
The goal is simple: to make sure their industrial computer will continue to deliver the required performance under the real environmental conditions it will face in the field.
We don’t just run standard stress tests. We load your specific software application onto the machine, place the unit into our environmental chamber, and ramp up the ambient temperature to your exact operating limits while monitoring CPU performance in real time.
This is real engineering: real measurements under real conditions.
Beyond major architectural leaps that inevitably spike hardware costs, we implement three targeted strategies to maximize your system’s thermal performance:
✅ Mechanical & Mounting Optimization: we design chassis with enlarged dissipation surfaces and help you identify the ideal dissipative mounting position to minimize the thermal resistance between the chassis and the environment.
✅ Forced Convection (Chassis Airflow): when ambient conditions stagnate, adding forced air across the chassis vastly improves heat exchange compared to natural convection alone, drastically dropping the internal Delta T.
✅ OS Trimming: we cut out unnecessary background processes directly from the Operating System. Fewer wasted CPU cycles mean less heat generated for the exact same amount of useful workload.
Your Thermal Chamber Test is on us!
Do you have an application that needs to perform under extended temperature ranges? Don’t let the heat compromise your field reliability.
The video below shows one of these thermal chamber tests currently taking place in our lab.
